Beenleigh and its surrounds are blessed to have etched in its bones a rich Indigenous history that can be discovered in art, speaking with local elders, engaging with the theatrical Red Sands Experience, or even visiting the Yugambeh museum. The stories of European settlers building churches, a rum distillery, pubs and more around the farms, particularly cane farms that they established resonates through to our time.
